How to Apply for a Discharge Upgrade
Answer a series of questions to get customized step-by-step instructions on how to apply for a discharge upgrade or correction. If your application goes through and your discharge is upgraded, you'll be eligible for the VA benefits you earned during your period of service. All branches of the military consider you to have a strong case for a discharge upgrade if you can show your discharge was connected to any of these categories:
* Mental health conditions, including PTSD
* Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
* Sexual assault or harassment during military service
* Sexual orientation (including under the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy)
"...critics have warned that those moves could undermine the existing VA health system, by pushing patients and funding into medical centers less equipped to handle veteran-specific medical issues."
That is pure bullshit. Just what "veteran-specific medical issues" are we talking about? Diabetes? Cancer? Hernias? Unless you're talking combat related inuries or PTSD, VA and civilian treatment don't differ at all except that civlian therapy is faster, better, cheaper.

YouTube Veterans ID Card
The myth about some sort of veterans ID card has been floated around for as many years as I can remember. VA has tried again and again but each time they fumble by printing your SSN on the front in bold letters or some similar privacy violation. Much of 2017 was spent with announcements of how great it would be when VA got our cards to us. As you can see, true to form, VA FUBARed it again.

Jim; Not sure if you have seen this yet. I’ve attached an “invitation” one of our clients received inviting him to participate in the RAMP program. We had to read it about 5 times to understand everything, so I would highly recommend any veteran getting one of these to seek the advice of a rep or attorney. We can definitely see where making the wrong selection could be detrimental. We're happy to offer free evaluations to any veteran who gets a RAMP letter. /s/ Julie Glover

Too often, though, we fail to name the elephant in the room: the colossal military machine that eats up the majority of the federal budget, that carries out wars without end, that has almost 800 bases in over 70 countries, and continues to be, as Martin Luther King charged, the greatest purveyor of violence on the planet.
