VA Secretary Vows to Rid Department of Adversaries Who 'Don't Belong'
The embattled head of the Veterans Affairs Department on Tuesday shook off any indication that he might step down from his post in the wake of a scandal regarding his travel last year, saying he was setting the direction for the agency and everyone should either get on board or find another place to work.

Memphis VA employee used to push VA accountability law still has same job
that employee, Brittney Lowe, had recently returned to work after a 60-day jail sentence for
multiple DUI convictions. Lowe still works at the VA in the same position she walked back into
months ago, seemingly unaffected by the law Shulkin and President Donald Trump have hailed
recently as it has allowed the VA to remove some 900 employees, though Trump
incorrectly exaggerated that number during his State of the Union address.
Let's see what I was writing 12 years ago.
The Veteran Affairs secretary’s Euro trip scandal, explained
Two weeks before the trip, Shulkin sent a memo scolding employees about overspending on travel: “The memorandum,” the inspector general’s report said, “instructed staff that before approving any employee travel, managers must determine whether the travel is ‘essential’ in order to decrease ‘employee travel and generate savings’ within VA.”

Hearing Loss, Tinnitus and Secondary Mental Health Conditions
Veterans Clinical Psychologist Dr. Brett Valette
explains how your service connected hearing loss & tinnitus can cause depression and
a number of other mental health conditions. Does your hearing loss and/or tinnitus cause
a lack of attentiveness or anxiety? If there is a cause and effect nexus, your mental
health conditions may be claimed and rated as secondary to the hearing loss and tinnitus.

White House targets VA’s deputy secretary as ‘a warning shot’ to agency’s leader
White House wants to remove the Department of Veterans Affairs’ second-in-command
as a “warning shot” to VA Secretary David Shulkin...Bowman’s exit would leave three
crucial leadership jobs vacant. There is no permanent undersecretary for health, no
undersecretary for benefits, “Tom Bowman is a veteran and a patriot, a public
servant and a good man. If this is true, it will be a mistake, and I am deeply disappointed in the president,” Isakson’s statement says. “Veterans will suffer because of this decision if it’s true.”

Jim; Not sure if you have seen this yet. I’ve attached an “invitation” one of our clients received inviting him to participate in the RAMP program. We had to read it about 5 times to understand everything, so I would highly recommend any veteran getting one of these to seek the advice of an attorney. We can definitely see where making the wrong selection could be detrimental. We're happy to offer free evaluations to any veteran who gets a RAMP letter. /s/ Julie Glover
