NEXT VETS' COMMISSION MEETING TO CENTER ON PTSD

ISSUES -- VDBC to meet July 13 & 14 in Washington, D.C.

Institute of Medicine (IOM) will present a report of its

Committee review of PTSD diagnosis and assessment.

The Veterans' Disability Benefits Commission (VDBC) has announced their July public meeting.

Of interest will be information on PTSD tentatively scheduled for July 13.  The Institute of Medicine (IOM) will present information on their contracted studies.

We recently posted a first-person report on the IOM meeting that discussed the VA's study of PTSD.  (The VDBC is using the VA's study.)  We could hear much the same thing in Washington.  That report here... http://www.vawatchdog.org/old%20newsflashes%20JUN%2006/newsflash06-18-2006-1.htm

There is an article posted on the Army Times web site about the meeting.  Here's a quote of note from that article:  "Commissioners have denied considering cuts in benefits, saying they are just trying to get a better idea of the overall financial situation of disabled veterans."  Complete article here... http://www.armytimes.com/story.php?f=1-292925-1933784.php

If you can attend the meeting I urge you to do so.  And, drop me an email and give me your impressions if you attend.
