THIS IS NATIONAL SALUTE TO HOSPITALIZED VETERANS WEEK -- THIS IS THE WEEK TO VOLUNTEER SOME TIME TO HELP OUR HOSPITALIZED BROTHERS AND SISTERS
It's time to volunteer, folks! Get out this week and visit a veteran in a VA hospital. Take some books or magazines. Take some toiletries. Or...take a Valentine. It's also known as Valentine's for Veterans Week. Maybe sneak in some chocolate with the card. There's nothing worse than being stuck in the hospital...alone! Here is a link to the VA web page about this week... http://www1.va.gov/volunteer/nshv.html Here is the link to the volunteer page at the VA web site. Here you will find a "Volunteer Now" section. Fill out the form and you will be contacted and they will tell you what you can do to help at your local level... http://www1.va.gov/volunteer/ Or, you can use this locator page to find the nearest VA...and give them a call... http://www1.va.gov/directory/guide/home.asp?isFlash=1 More info on this week is below: The week of February 14 each year is your
opportunity to say thank you to a special group of men and women, more than
98,000 veterans of the U.S. armed services who are cared for every day in
