Harleysville Insurance Donates Another $27,000 to Operation Uplink

HARRISBURG, Penn., Dec. 20, 2007--Following a June $21,000 donation (See related story) to VFW's Operation Uplink phone card program, Harleysville Insurance in Harrisburg recently extended their generous giving and presented the VFW Pennsylvania Department with another Operation Uplink donation, but this time one for $27,000.

“With $48,000 already donated, Harleysville Insurance has quickly become an outstanding corporate supporter of Operation Uplink,” said VFW Pennsylvania State Commander John Getz, adding that the company has made the two largest one-time donations in Pennsylvania VFW history. “Their continued generosity is helping thousands of men and women in uniform hear the voices of those who love them the most. The company has already told us that they will continue to donate money, which truly shows that its management, staff and agents appreciate all that the troops are doing to protect our freedom.”

"On behalf of Harleysville Insurance and our independent agency partners, we are proud to support the VFW's Operation Uplink, and we commend your ongoing efforts to connect our brave servicemen and women in remote locations with their loved ones back home," said Hoffman, who noted that the donation was made possible through the company’s 20 PLUS 2 agency/CSR incentive program, where $2 is donated for every auto and homeowners policy.
