CRAIG ANNOUNCES NEW STAFF ON VETERANS’ COMMITTEE

(Washington, DC) U.S. Senator Larry Craig has recently hired two military veterans to his staff on the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and added two college interns who work on the committee through the summer.

"Capitol Hill is a great place to work and I’m pleased to provide qualified young people with a unique opportunity to help their nation," said Craig, who serves as the top Republican on the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.

Among the recent additions:

Jeff Gall –

He is working on health care policy issues for Senator Craig. Gall was raised in San Antonio, Texas, and received his bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas. He earned a law degree from South Texas College of Law, where he was the assistant editor-in-chief of the South Texas Law Review. While there he received the South Texas Law Review’s Distinguished Service Award. He joined the Army after the nation was attacked in 2001 and served as an officer in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps until recently. He is now a JAG officer in the Air Force Reserve.

Chris Larsen –

He serves as the friendly face at the front desk and coordinates research and other activities for committee staff. Larsen was born in Georgia and raised in Kimberly, Idaho, and graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in political science and public relations. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1997 to 2001. He began working for Sen. Craig earlier this year as an intern and was recently hired as a full time committee staffer.

Megan Olmstead –

She is serving as an intern – gaining work experience by helping to draft correspondence, speeches and fulfilling other duties as assigned. A recent graduate of the University of Portland in Oregon with a degree in political science, Olmstead grew up in Meridian, Idaho, and hopes to work on Capitol Hill full time. She was active in student government on campus, serving as both a campus senator and as Student Body Vice President.

Carrie Fogel –

She is also serving as an intern – gaining work experience by helping to draft correspondence, speeches and fulfilling other duties as assigned. She grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and this fall will return to the University of Pittsburgh to complete her degree in political science and communications.
