House Veterans’ Affairs Committee Hosts Presidential Management Fellow

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington D.C. – Congressman Bob Filner (D-CA), Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, announced that the Committee is currently hosting Brooke Spitzer of the Presidential Management Fellowship Program.

Spitzer is a Presidential Management Fellow currently completing a 3 and a half month rotational assignment with the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs. Her fellowship, a two year paid appointment to civil service for recent graduate students, allows Spitzer to engage in developmental assignments throughout the executive branch, legislative branch, and private industry. Prior to joining the Committee, Spitzer served as communication team lead for the Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer. Spitzer’s main focus during her rotation will be analyzing legislation related to veterans’ disability benefits and presumptive conditions. She holds a Master of Arts degree from American University and is a native of Rochester Hills, Michigan.

“This committee is fortunate to have such a talented and hardworking fellow join our staff to learn about veterans issues on the Hill,” said Chairman Filner. “Of course, my team is able to learn from her studies and experiences as well.”
